Mission

The purpose of the Oyster Bay Lacrosse League (OBLL) is to unify, promote, and develop, lacrosse in Nassau County.

The goals of the organization shall be to:

(a) Increase the number of qualified coaches, officials, players and administrators by recruiting and assisting the constituent groups with recruiting and training efforts.

(b) Collect, develop, and disseminate lacrosse instructional materials to all constituent groups.

(c) Maintain the integrity of the game of lacrosse and promote sportsmanship.

(d) Create guiding principles for OBLL sponsored events.

(e) Bring the game of Lacrosse to the Special Needs Community.

(f) Sponsor at least one annual event that recognizes and showcases excellence in lacrosse in Nassau County.

(g) Coordinate the communication of lacrosse-related information across constituent groups.

Our Program

>> 3 Divisions based on age
>> Each team will play 12 games including a playoff winner per Division
>> Grades 1-6 will play 2 games per week
>> Grades 7, 8, and Open division will play one game per week

Divisions

>> Intermediate Division
Young players in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades at a beginning skill level with close supervision and training in a slightly competitive league.

Advanced Division
Young players in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades with some experience and a moderate skill level in a slightly higher competitive league.

>> Open Division
7th and 8th graders in a combined league with more experience and a high level of skill in a well structured competitive league.

Safety

>> 3 Referees per game
>> Most games will be played on state of the art facilities (Field Turf)
>> Coaches and Referees Seminars will be conducted in first aid and AED Training
